St. Louis Cardinals
They are coming to town! The questions are: is it worth it to try for Pujols? He hardly signs anymore, at least not in Denver. And will McGwire sign? I've heard he's better, now that he's been embarrassed by the steroids issue. 'Graphing is all about time, isn't it? Sit around and wait for the 'graph. Do I want to spend time on two long shots??? Stay tuned....

So, a day of getting shut out. I went to the stadium where a few people were waiting. We heard that Mark McGwire had signed the previous day at a different entrance, so Wayne and I headed up there. The gate attendant confirmed the Mark sighting and signing the day before so we hunkered down to wait. At almost two o'clock we decided to head to the other entrance because I spotted a hotel town car heading by the stadium. After a walk/run we got to our original spot and Pujols was getting out of the car with another player (I didn't recognize him). Would Pujols sign? Of course not, he ignored us all.
ReplyDeleteThen we found out that McGwire came in with Jason Giambi (and they didn't sign). And we missed Troy Tulowitzki and Ubaldo Jimenez (who both signed). I really blew that one!!! Sometimes it just doesn't pay to out-think yourself. My advice for today - pick a spot and stay there. You'll get somebody....
